چکیده
This work was carried out to evaluate the heavy metals (Cr, Cd, Fe, Ni, Mn, Pb and Zn) pollution load health risks population of some local fruit samples in Katsina state Nigeria. Results from this study have shown that except for mean concentration (1.152-1.623) Cd (0.053-0.092), (mg/kg) range values Fe (1.728-1.954), Mn (0.321-0.502) Zn (0.263-0.967 ppm) were generally below maximum allowable these metals. The risk level Target Hazard Quotient 1(< 1) recorded all evaluated population, indicating a no non-carcinogenic adverse effect on population. Incremental Lifetime Cancer Risk metal at threshold limit (>10−4) sampled fruits adults, while adults children within moderate (>10−3). cumulative cancer (∑ILCR) studied (>10−3) above (>10−2) children. results suggested intake State is public concern as it may lead an increase cases.

Health risk assessment for carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic heavy metal exposures from vegetables and fruits of Bangladesh
Most popular vegetables and fruits and their corresponding soil from the sub-urban industrial area of Bangladesh were collected and the concentration of carcinogenic (Pb, As, and Cd) and non-carcinogenic (Fe, Co, V, Cu, Cr, Zn, Mn, and Ni) heavy metals was determined. Health risk was evaluated by estimating daily heavy metal intake and computing cancer and non-cancer risks (ILCR and THQ) using ...
